About the Affordability Calculator

What it is

An Affordability Calculator estimates the maximum price of a big-ticket purchase — like a home or a car — that fits comfortably within your income, after accounting for your existing obligations and how much you can put down upfront.

Benefits

It stops you from house-hunting or car-shopping outside your real budget, and shows how a larger down payment or a shorter tenure changes what you can actually afford — before you fall for something you can't comfortably pay for.

What affects it

Your net monthly income, existing EMIs and debts, the down payment you can arrange, the interest rate and tenure on offer, and how much of your income a lender allows towards EMIs (the FOIR) all directly change the number.
